Affected are the original Zone Players, the Connect and Connect:Amp, which were sold from 2006 until the end of 2015, as well as the first generation of Play:5 (since 2009), the CR200 controller (since 2009) and the Bridge (since 2007). According to Sonos, these devices have now reached their technical limits in terms of memory and processing power. However they are supposed to remain functional. Without software updates, access to services and the overall functionality of the sound system can nevertheless no longer be guaranteed in the future, for example as streaming services continue to develop their technologies. Sonos still somewhat deserves praise for bringing digital devices up to date and adding new features for up to 14 years. That is rather unusual in the computer industry!
