The new R40PM and R50PM active speakers are said to be able to offer the concept of all-in-one systems at a particularly affordable price – with high sound quality and dynamics.
The two powered speaker sets feature a variety of connection options, including an optical input and a USB port. In addition, an integrated phono preamplifier directly accepts music signals from a turntable with MM system. To that, wireless Bluetooth technology and a classic analog RCA input are added.
All the technology of the preamp, DAC and the controls are already built into one of the two speakers, the passive second speaker completing the stereo set. A subwoofer output with built-in crossover allows the connection of a subwoofer.
Thanks to the latest-generation tweeter horn and a Cerametallic woofer, the Klipsch R40PM and R50PM are said to deliver impressive dynamic performance for their size. Both models feature 25mm aluminum tweeters playing to a Tractrix® horn. Invented and exclusively used by Klipsch, this horn technology is said to optimally match the dispersion of the higher frequencies to the size of each woofer and housing. The R40PM offer 70 watts of total continuous power (with 240 watts of impulse power) and a compact 4-inch (10.5cm) woofer. For the R50PM, it's 120 watts of continuous power and a 5.25-inch (13.3cm) woofer (manufacturer's statements). Thanks to active bass extension circuitry and a reflex port, both are said to bring room-filling low-frequency performance.
Easy operation is supposed to be ensured via the remote or the dial on the master speaker.
Klipsch R40PM (€549*) and R50PM (€649*) are available now* in walnut or ash black finish.
