Chief Engineer for more than 30 Years

Per Windfeld from Ortofon has passed away

On December 22, 2020, Per Windfeld, former chief developer of Ortofon, passed away at the age of 87.

For more than 30 years, Windfeld was the head of the research and development department and was largely responsible for the success and general direction of the Ortofon brand. During this time, he created many legendary cartridges, such as the OM, Concorde or MC Jubilee series, and also left his permanent mark on the "Ortofon sound". In 2008, Ortofon released its own pickup in honor of Per Windfeld, the MC Windfeld. At the end of December 2020, the 87-year-old passed away peacefully.
