Warwick's new "ElectroAcoustic Panel" is an electrostatic loudspeaker designed specifically for installation in vehicles, and is said to be the world's first in-car loudspeaker to employ this transducer design. According to the manufacturer, this technology has been researched and developed over a period of 5 years and is said to offer the best sonic qualities of electrostatic headphones. Furthermore, the electrostatic speakers are said to weigh up to 75% less and consume equally less power than conventional in-car speakers; they are also said to consist of upcycled and recyclable materials and not require non-sustainable rare earth elements.
The "ElectroAcoustic Panels" consist of a patented electrostatic driver with matched electronic drive module. According to Warwick, they can be moulded into different form factors, giving car manufacturers plenty of freedom in speaker placement and design.
