Four New Klipsch Reference Premiere Subwoofers

Klipsch presents the new Reference Premiere subwoofers, which are said to be suitable for both music and home theater use.

All four of the new Klipsch subwoofers carry a copper-colored "Cerametallic™" driver, which is said to provide good damping as well as high rigidity. Aiming for high excursion and minimal distortion, the membranes work together with an ultra-long throw drive. The subwoofers are built in a ported design, with the special "aerofoil slot port design" intended to reduce noise, among other things; the bass reflex ports face forward, which is supposed to allow for flexible placement of the units.

To match the rest of the system, the new models have a stepless control of crossover frequency and level, and the subwoofers can be switched in phase. As connections, they carry an RCA input, as well as a WA-2 port to which Klipsch's corresponding wireless expansion module can be connected. The cabinet of the RP subwoofers comes in a wood-look vinyl finish.

Overview of the new Klipsch Reference Premiere subwoofers, including price (MSRP in Germany), driver size and stated output power (RMS) of the built-in Class D amplifiers:

Klipsch RP-1000 SW: 10 inch / 25cm driver, 300 W, around €1000

Klipsch RP-1200 SW: 12 inch / 30cm driver, 400 W, around €1200

Klipsch RP-1400 SW: 14 inch / 36cm driver, 500 W, around €1500

Klipsch RP-1600 SW: 16 inch / 41cm driver, 800 W, around €2000

All four new Klipsch subwoofers are said to be available from April 2023 in Germany, each in black and including grille.
