All four of the new Klipsch subwoofers carry a copper-colored "Cerametallic™" driver, which is said to provide good damping as well as high rigidity. Aiming for high excursion and minimal distortion, the membranes work together with an ultra-long throw drive. The subwoofers are built in a ported design, with the special "aerofoil slot port design" intended to reduce noise, among other things; the bass reflex ports face forward, which is supposed to allow for flexible placement of the units.
To match the rest of the system, the new models have a stepless control of crossover frequency and level, and the subwoofers can be switched in phase. As connections, they carry an RCA input, as well as a WA-2 port to which Klipsch's corresponding wireless expansion module can be connected. The cabinet of the RP subwoofers comes in a wood-look vinyl finish.
