The British manufacturer Cyrus Audio has appointed Nick Clarke as Managing Director. His predecessor Simon Freethy, who also owns the company, becomes Chairman in turn. Nick Clarke is experienced in the audio industry: Prior to joining Harman International, he held leadership positions at Arcam, IAG, TAG Mclaren and Audiolab.
Simon Freethy comments as follows: "This is very much a strategic move for Cyrus. Nick brings a huge amount of industry experience, enabling us to improve in many areas. His product development expertise will enable us to launch even more exciting new products from our talented R&D team."
Nick Clarke himself says about his new position: "This is an exciting opportunity for me to have a much more hands on role and lead the latest chapter in the history of a classic and well-loved British HiFi brand. I’m fully focussed on elevating the position of Cyrus as an industry leader that creates products that will excite the modern audio enthusiast."
In addition to the change in leadership, Cyrus Audio announced that it now has an official, strategic partnership with BluOS to add its renowned high-performance streaming capabilities to the Cyrus product lineup and provide a well-rounded user experience for the modern music consumer.
BluOS also sees the new partnership as promising:
"Our goal with BluOS continues to be highly selective about the brands we add to the platform since it is so important that the shared ecosystem model be represented by totally like-minded and committed partners. Cyrus Audio is one of those well aligned brands that the Lenbrook team has long admired." (Gordon Simmonds, CEO of Lenbrook International)
