As French media report, Georges Cabasse, a passionate engineer, music lover and the founder of French loudspeaker specialist Cabasse, died on November 17th at the age of 91.
He had founded the loudspeaker company near Paris in 1950. Because he was drawn to the sea, he relocated the company to Brest, the westernmost tip of France, at the end of the 1950s. The speciality of the Cabasse brand is loudspeakers with coaxially arranged drivers and an unusual design, often in a spherical shape. Cabasse was taken over by Canon in 2006, but went back into French hands in 2014: to the streaming specialist Awox. Cabasse benefit from this expertise with their latest Wi-Fi-speakers.
