Musical Fidelity boss Heinz Lichtenegger proudly presents two new, rather affordable devices at the High End Audio Show, the A1 amplifier and the LS3/5A standmount speaker. The A1 comes in the design of the original A1, but is supposed to offer a high-quality performance with new components.
In addition to several RCA inputs, the amp also carries a phono input. Although the pure Class A amplifier does not offer extremely high power – which an amplifier of this size is stated to not need anyway – it is still said convince sonically, and thanks to the housing design effectively dissipate heat and thus play reliably.
The new A1 from Musical Fidelity should be available for around €1,600.
As another new version of a classic and as a playing partner for the A1, Musical Fidelity presents a new version of the compact 2-way speaker LS3/5A. The closed speakers are to deliver high-quality sound, especially for smaller rooms or, according to their origin, in a studio.
Available now, the Musical Fidelity LS3/5A is stated cost around €1,250.
