German analog specialist Clearaudio launches the "Profiler", available in black or silver, as the most recent addition to its lineup of tonearms. It is intended primarily as a partner for the turntables of the "Performance" series, but of course can also be combined with other models from the manufacturer or other brands. The Profiler, which fills the gap between the smaller Satisfy and the bigger Tracer, has a smooth-running sapphire horizontal bearing, while vertical movement is realized via ball bearings.
The tube is made of a strong aluminum alloy and is steadied via damping points. The resonance protection dome is also supposed to provide stability. According to the manufacturer, the medium-weight arm fits Clearaudio's MM and MC cartridges, as well as the vast majority of third-party pickups, and can work with models weighing between 3.7 and 17 grams.
The Clearaudio-typical permanently attached phono cable, equipped with RCA connectors, is 1.1 meters long and of high quality. The Profiler comes with a two-year warranty* and costs around €1900*.
