MAGAZINE
The Roon Labs have developed a new technology called "Valence", which evaluates your own usage data and the data of over 100,000 Roon users to specifically recommend music to each individual. The new version 1.7 offers the possibility to select the best albums of an artist or composer or to recommend from the new releases of the streaming services Qobuz and Tidal those which suit your own musical taste. In addition, the search function has been improved and the findability of classical music optimized. Roon has significantly expanded the "Credits", i.e. the extended metadata such as complete instrumentation lists. In addition over 44 million additional credit information were added. Roon can now also import such information from the metadata embedded in the files, if available. Also the streaming technique of Qobuz and Tidal has been optimized, which now gets by with less hard disk and memory accesses, so that the music starts faster. This also benefits slower Internet connections or less powerful computers. The update to Roon 1.7 for MacOS, Windows and Linux starts automatically.
