The main task of the PF-1000DC is the filtering out of power noise, which stems from inteferences in the electricity network. The power filter from TAGA Harmony aims to filter out and thus limit noise coming from the power network and other devices connected to it, which is supposed to prevent the negative effects this noise could have on an audio system, while also isolating it from the inteferences.
Now, a DC blocker was integrated into this power filter, which also aims to further increase the quality of music playback from devices connected to it. It is supposed to lower, or even completely remove, unwanted DC components in the supply voltage. These are said to be responsible for reducing the quality of the playback, by adding noise among other things. Both features together also aim to increase the longevity of devices fed by the PF-1000DC, as unfiltered electricity could also have a negative impact on their circuitry, according to TAGA Harmony.
The power filter carries a Schuko-IEC C13 power cable, which can be removed and thus allows for upgrades by way of better power cables, as well as a voltage indicator on the front.TAGA Harmony states the MSRP of the PF-1000DC at $345 including VAT tax.
