Longer Lifespan & Better Sound

Western Electric 300B Back in Production

The production of the legendary hi-fi triode Western Electric 300B is now running at full speed. Using the latest technologies, machines and workflows, the 300B is manufactured according to the original blueprints in the Western Electric facility in Rossville in the U.S state of Georgia.

Thanks to the new way of production, the required manufacturing conditions are supposed to be met more precisely than before. This is supposed to lead to a greatly extended lifespan and an even more dynamic sound.

Each tube undergoes a 72-hour computer-controlled testing process which is finished by a final round of measurements, and each tube is supplied with its own data sheet. Based on this final inspection, a "matched" pair is assembled.

In initial listening comparisons between these tubes and a Western Electric NOS pair as well as tubes from other manufacturers, the new 300Bs are said to have produced a more airy and spacious sound image that also possessed more power and dynamics than the NOS tube.
