From now on, Chromecast can be used in conjunction with the player software Audirvana. With the recent update to version 2.0, Audirvana can stream not only to UPnP-compatible network players, but also to Chromecast devices, at up to 24-bit and 96 kHz resolution. With this, Audirvana is now also ready for multi-room operation.
The audio analyzer function has also been further improved, according to Audirvana: it scans the piece of music during playback and determines its actual resolution, detects compressed elements and upsampling. New features also include improved gapless playback, which compensates for faulty UPnP implementations in some network players. Audirvana 2.0 saves settings individually for each output device.
Audirvana also offers an update for the Remote App: It can now be operated on tablets in horizontal "landscape" mode. All changes are not only included in the subscription version Audirvana Studio, but also in "Audirvana Origin", the one-time-purchase version, which can only access locally stored music, not Qobuz and Tidal.
