The compact ProMedia Heritage 2.1 set from the traditional US manufacturer Klipsch falls in line with the classic Klipsch Heritage series look, but is said to be technologically up-to-date and suitable for music enthusiasts with little space and a desire for contemporary usability.
According to Klipsch, the small footprint makes the subwoofer – equipped with amplifiers for itself and the satellite speakers – ideal for placement in a shelf or usage with a computer. Thanks to Bluetooth, it can be wirelessly connected to computers, smartphones or tablets. An analog RCA input allows for connection to other, analog source devices. The included infrared remote is used for input selection and controls the volume as well as the intensity of the subwoofer. A mute function, play and pause – when using Bluetooth – and selecting the "night mode" are also available with it.
The developers have tuned the system for the greatest possible dynamics and deep bass reproduction, which are effective at both low and high sound pressure levels, as the manufacturer assures. A three-dimensional sound stage is said to arise both in near-field operation on a desk or with larger listening distances, as for example in a living room. The subwoofer level can be adjusted for better adaption to the room and positioning. Each satellite speaker features a 7.6cm woofer as well as a 2.5cm fabric dome tweeter. The latter sits in a Klipsch signature Tractrix® horn. The powerful 21cm bass driver in the subwoofer is powered by 100 watts and comes with a bass reflex port for extended low frequency response.
Two real wood finishes are available: black ash and walnut. The ProMedia Heritage 2.1 Set is available now* for around €400*.
