In addition to a revised housing design, the clamp – which holds the record in position and at the same time protects the record label from liquid – has changed in the new generation of the "VC" record cleaning machines. The clamp no longer has to be screwed on, but it now adheres magnetically. There are also new self-adhesive arm strips that are supposed to be particularly easy to change. In addition, the devices are said to contain detail improvements and, in the case of the large VC-S3, an improved motor.
On both models, the internal tank (VC-E2 = 0.5 liters / VC-S3 = 2.5 liters) directly collects the used cleaning fluid. When using the also new Wash it 2 cleaning fluid, the liquid also evaporates in the tank.
The new record cleaning machines from Pro-Ject are made in Europe and cost around €450 (VC-E2) or around €700 (VC-S3) in Germany.
