Scandinavian loudspeaker manufacturer Scansonic – a part of the Danish Dantax Group, which includes the established but usually highly priced speakers from Raidho – has unveiled three new floorstanding loudspeakers at the High End Audio Show, which are expected to be available in high-gloss black or walnut veneer starting in October:
The smallest model is the Q3, a 2.5-way floorstanding speaker with ribbon tweeter and 2 x 5.25-inch carbon mid/bass drivers. The price per pair in the EU is €7,000 in black and €8,000 in walnut.
After that comes the mid-range Q8, a 3-way floorstanding speaker, also with ribbon tweeter, a 5.25-inch carbon midrange driver and an 8-inch carbon woofer. The pair price in the EU will be €9,000 in black and €11,000 in walnut.
The top model Q10 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker; the ribbon tweeter is also included here, the midrange driver is the same as the Q8, and two of the 8-inch (20 cm) woofers work in the low frequency range. The pair price in the EU is €13,000 in black and €15,000 in walnut.
