Three of the four new speakers from Scansonic belong to the "L" series, and thus carry certain similarities: The new "L Onwall" wall-mounted speakers, the "L 7" standmount speakers and the "L 14" floorstanding speakers all carry a 25mm silk dome tweeter, for example. The on-wall speakers are, as the name suggests, dasigned to be mounted directly on a wall; to optimally suit this field of use, they have a depth of only 10 cm and carry the bass reflex port on the front, which is accompanied by a Kevlar woofer/midrange driver. The other two new L-series loudspeakers carry one ("L 7") or two ("L 14") bass/midrange drivers with special paper cones in a sandwich construction each. Furthermore, the speaker cabinets of the new models are said to be particularly resistant to resonance thanks to bracings and increased wall thickness.
Scansonic's "M" series is also getting a new addition: the "M Onwall" wall-mounted speaker, which is said to be well suited for home theater as well as stereo and 2.1 listening and designed as a multipurpose speaker. It carries a ribbon tweeter made of kapton and aluminum, which comes alongside a 4.5" woofer with honeycomb enforced glassfiber cone supported by a downward-firing bass reflex port.
All four of Scansonic's new speakers are said to be available immediately*. The "L Onwall," the smallest new model, comes in black, white or walnut finishes at a price of €450 per pair*, while the "M Onwall" – available in black or white – is scheduled to cost €825*. Both the standmounted "L 7" as well as the floorstanding "L 14" speakers are also available in black, white or walnut and come at a pair price of €690* and €1690*, respectively.
