The YH-E700B's "Listening Optimizer" is designed to provide an adaptive sound experience for each individual's listening experience. Since everyone's ears are shaped differently and thus perceive sound in their own way, headphones can create significant differences in sound. Thanks to the Listening Optimizer, even the slightest differences – which can be caused by the fit of the headphones or different ear shapes – are corrected in real time, according to Yamaha. As the manufacturer says, this system also works in combination with noise cancelling – and thanks to a battery life of up to 32 hours, even throughout the whole day.
Yamaha's "Listening Care" technology has also been integrated into the YH-E700B. This technology adjusts playback according to the current situation, something that would not be possible with conventional equalizers, as the manufacturer states. This avoids the need for simply turning up the volume to hear everything, while ensuring hearing protection. Listening Care even builds on the proven YPAO Volume technology that Yamaha has been using for years in home theater.
Yamaha's own Headphone Control app is available for iOS and Android. Here, the sound of the headphones can be individually adjusted via an equalizer, while the app also offers the option for firmware updates. In addition, the Siri and Google Assistant voice assistants can also be used with the headphones.
The Yamaha YH-E700B is available now in black and beige and costs around €350 in Germany (including taxes).
