The new Wharfedale Dovedale is a three-way speaker, and is the new flagship of the Heritage series, aiming to impress with modern technologies, high-quality workmanship and retro design. The speakers come including special stands, which are supposed to offer optimal decoupling, according to Wharfedale. The built-in crossover is also intended to optimize the sound and provide, among other things, transparency as well as a deep bass.
For the high frequncies, the new Dovedale carry the same model as the other Heritage speakers, a 25mm soft dome tweeter with a ceramic magnet. This driver is said to have been further improved, and is now also supported by a damped chamber on its back, which is supposed to absorb unwanted nioise. The membranes of both the 10-inch woofer and the 5-inch midrange driver are made of woven Kevlar, which is said to ensure, among other things, high rigidity, very good impulse fidelity and a smooth transition between the two drivers. The midrange driver also has its own chamber in the cabinet as well.
The new Wharfedale Dovedale are available now*, and come for €6,500* MSRP including stand.
