The concept of the first Uni-Fi generation was retained. The 2.0 series consists of the UB52 bookshelf speaker, UF52 floorstander and UC52 center speaker. The acoustic center of each Uni-Fi loudspeaker is the concentric mid-treble driver, which according to the manufacturer is designed to ensure an impressively precise, spatial image and consistently high reproduction quality in all listening positions. Neodymium, aluminum, copper, polyimide and silk are used and the high material and manufacturing costs are to guarantee perfect detail and a wide frequency range.
One material, one look – the cones of the woofers and the ring radiator of the concentric drivers of the Uni-Fi 2.0 are each made of a single piece of embossed aluminum. Depending on the model, up to three bass/midrange drivers complement the concentric drivers. While the modified shape of the diaphragms provides increased rigidity, the powerful magnet system is designed to provide dynamic and accurate reproduction in the bass and lower mid-range frequencies, always with superior performance regardless of the size of the speaker.
The high wall thickness of the MDF cabinet and the internal bracing are designed to prevent unwanted coloration of the sound. Elaborately designed crossovers are not only intended to ensure an optimal allocation of frequency bands or the perfect interaction of the individual drivers, but also to provide an impedance curve that is even more linear. The loudspeakers come with a high-quality, structured foil coating.
The Uni-Fi 2.0 will be available from November 2020 in ash black decor. Recommended prices are around 600 euros per pair for the compact UB52, around 1,200 euros per pair for the UF52 floorstanding loudspeakers and around 350 euros per unit for the UC52.
