Reinforcements for the 500 Euro class

Integrated Amp and CD-Player Marantz PM6007 & CD6007

The new Marantz PM6007 integrated amplifier and CD6007 CD player aim to bring more power and additional connectivity to the entry-level class.

The PM6007 dual-channel integrated amplifier is equipped with a toroidal transformer and an enlarged power supply capacitor and delivers 60 watts per channel into 4 ohms. The amplifier technology with current negative feedback and HDAM-SA3 circuitry is designed to provide a wide bandwidth and a comprehensive dynamic range as well as high tonal depth and detail. In combination with the high-current power supply, the PM6007's amplifier has large energy reserves, so that it should be able to supply even demanding speakers with ease.

The PM6007 provides five analog, one coaxial and two optical digital inputs. It also features an MM phono preamplifier and a subwoofer output. The built-in AK4490 digital-to-analog converter enables playback of high-resolution digital content up to 192 kHz/24 bits. The high-quality speaker terminals with A/B switching function, a fully shielded D/A converter unit, copper screws and rigid feet are also designed to ensure durability.

The CD6007 CD player comes with an improved circuit layout and a generously dimensioned, low-noise power supply unit with fast high-current Schottky diodes and capacitors 120 percent larger than those of the predecessor model, which is intended to ensure better current stability and lower AC noise. The new AK4490 D/A converter with two filter options can play back audio files from the USB interface with a resolution of up to 24 bits and a sampling rate of 192 kHz and DSD 5.6 MHz.

The device supports CD and CD-R/RW discs as well as files in WAV, MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC HD, ALAC, AIFF and DSD formats. The analog signal is routed from Marantz's own HDAM-SA2 signal amplifier to the gold-plated outputs on the rear panel of the CD6007. The rigid feet and two-layer base plate are designed to prevent the mechanism inside the unit from being affected by unwanted vibrations. The integrated headphone amplifier is equipped with an impedance control and should therefore be able to deliver optimal sound on a wide variety of headphones. The supplied remote control can controll the CD6007 and the PM6007.

The Marantz PM6007 (around 550 Euros*) and CD6007 (around 450 Euros*) will be available from authorized dealers from the beginning of September* in the colors black and silver-gold.
