The new models feature a 2410H 2-inch compression driver working together with a High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) horn. This technology, developed in-house by JBL, is said to deliver powerful dynamics and accurate reproduction of sound. In addition, the standmount speakers feature a 6.5-inch cone-shaped woofer made of pure cellulose, which sits in a cast frame.
The JBL 4309 studio monitor comes in the classic JBL monitor design, with a blue baffle and walnut wood veneer body. Since the speakers are equipped with two sets of gold-plated connection ports, they can also be optionally operated in a bi-wiring or bi-amping configuration.
The JBL 4309s are expected to be available from authorized retailers in June*, in the color variants walnut (with blue covering) and black (with black covering). The MSRP is said to be around €2,000 per pair*.
