The new amplifier bases AS901 and AS125 are made from sustainably sourced solid white ash, and the 7 cm thick wooden panel is said to be resistant to scratches and dents. A special face-gluing technique with edge grain top is said to further provide extreme strength, durability as well as stability. The feet have a protective pad on the bottom to protect the floor and are said to minimize vibrations. The same feet are also used in the McIntosh MC901 amplifier.
Each stand carries a plate with the McIntosh logo on its front, which can be illuminated in green via the Power Control connectors on the back. The wood panel is manufactured by Symbol Audio, with final assembly, packing and shipping done at the McIntosh factory in Binghamton, NY.
