The new streaming and multi-room ready Pulse M from Bluesound uses the so-called "Omni-Hybrid-Design" for the first time, which is characterized by an angled and upward radiating 133 mm mid-woofer and two 19 mm tweeters inside the speaker cabinet, which are placed at an angle of 45° from each other. A specially designed acoustic reflector above the mid-woofer is said to direct sound out of the speaker, providing a 360° soundstage. The drivers are powered by a DSP-controlled digital amplifier with a stated total output of 80 watts.
Two Pulse M speakers can be optionally grouped as a stereo set using the BluOS app, or act as rear surround speakers in a home theater setup.
On the top of the Pulse M, a touch panel with proximity sensor is located, such as was already employed in the latest generation of the Bluesound Node. This enables control of play/pause, volume, songs (forward or back) and 5 presets. All common streaming services and Internet radio stations can be accessed directly via the BluOS app, as well as the user's own music collection via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or an external USB drive. AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth aptX HD are also on board, as well as a combined 3.5 mm port for analog or optical digital signals. As usual with Bluesound, the Pulse M can be used with other Bluesound devices in a multi-room system.
The new streaming speakers come in dimensions of 204 x 149 x 171 mm (HxDxW) in either white or black. Bluesound also offers optional wall mounts as well as floor stands. The Pulse M will be available in Germany from the beginning of November 2022 for around €550.
