The Aethos is built entirely in double-mono arrangement, with the preamplifier and the driver stage working in pure Class A. A specially developed toroidal transformer is responsible for the power supply. In addition to the 6 line inputs, it is also possible to switch to a direct input via which the power amplifiers are accessible separately. The volume of the Aethos is adjusted using an Alps potentiometer, which simultaneously controls input level and feedback value. Thus, the signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range can be optimized. Rega puts out 125 watts at 8 ohms and 156 watts at 6 ohms. The upper frequency limit is 50 kHz via the direct input and 30 kHz via the other inputs according to the data sheet. The Rega Aethos is expected to be available from December for 4000 Euro.
