New cabinets, drivers and crossovers

AudioSolutions Overture the third

The Lithuanian manufacturer AudioSolutions launches the third generation of its entry-level Overture loudspeaker series. The cabinet, drivers and crossover have all been revised.

The cabinets of the new AudioSolution Overtures were designed according to the "box-in-a-box" principle, which has already proven itself in the upper-class Virtuoso and Figaro series. An Overture loudspeaker of the 2020 series thus consists of a light inner and a heavy outer cabinet, both separated by a damping layer of polyurethane.

The Overture Mk3 models also feature new drivers based on the experience of chief designer and company owner Gediminas Gaidelis with the Figaro series. The magnets and voice coils of the low and mid-range chassis have been adapted for use in the Overture speakers. The modified dome tweeter is precisely aligned for use with AudioSolution's slightly enlarged mini horn attachment. According to the manufacturer, the phase-linear crossover uses extremely thick circuit boards and high quality ironless copper coils.

The new entry-level series from AudioSolutions will include a total of five different types of loudspeakers. The first to arrive are the two 3-way floorstanding loudspeakers O304F and O305F. A dedicated midrange driver for the frequencies between 1,000 and 2,000 Hz is intended to prevent crossover distortion in this spectrum, which is particularly sensitive to the human ear. Furthermore, it also allows to connect the tweeter just at around 3,000 Hz, which should make it more durable and level resistant.

The floor-standing loudspeakers have identical components in the high and mid-range with the 2.5 cm fabric dome tweeter (Seas) and a 15.2 cm special paper cone driver (SB Acoustics). They differ in the size of the woofers used: 2 x 15.2 cm (O304F) versus 2 x 18.3 cm (O305F). As a result, the cabinet volume and total weight also change.

All newly designed Overture speakers will be available in several versions. AudioSolutions manufactures the front section optionally in high-gloss black or high-gloss white. In the standard version the body is always matt black. Pure wood versions are available for an additional charge: Oak, mahogany, wenge. The scope of delivery includes spikes with M6 thread, matching washers and magnetically adhesive front covers.

The types Overture O304F and Overture O305F are available immediately from selected specialist dealers at the respective pair prices of 3,500 and 4,100 euros.
