At B&W, the suffix "Signature" indicates the tonally and visually refined version of a loudspeaker model. The new 702 Signature floorstanding loudspeaker is based on the 702 S2 introduced in 2017 and, like the latter, is equipped with the typical "tweeter-on-top" cabinet, which was even made from a solid aluminum body here. It houses the same carbon dome tweeter as in the basic version. A 15 cm midrange driver with "Continuum FST" membrane is responsible for the midrange. The three 17 cm woofers work with variants of the "Aerofoil Technology" of the 800 Diamond Series. New in the "Signature" are optimised components such as the Mundorf capacitors and the revised circuit of the crossover. B&W has also put the finishing touches to the cabinet visually: It is veneered with the ebony-like "Datuk Gloss" and has a nine-fold high-gloss coating. The noble 702 is available immediately for 5000 Euro per pair. B&W has given similar fine tuning to the 705 Signature standmount speaker, which is also available immediately and costs 3000 Euro per pair without stands.
