According to Cambridge Audio, the Evo CD is designed as a true high-end pure CD transport and, thanks to its S5 servo, provide optimal signals to an Evo 75 or Evo 150 via digital input. It also visually matches the Evo design with elegant black aluminum and optional matte wooden or matte black side panels. The insides are intended to follow the tradition of high-end components from Cambridge: A full metal loading mechanism wants to guarantee stability and durability.
The connection to the Evo amplifier via Evo Link Cable allows control of the CD drive via the amp's remote control. The Evo streaming amplifier also has album recognition, so the CD cover is shown on the display of the Evo 75 or Evo 150 and in the StreamMagic app.
Evo 75 and Evo 150 remain the multi-talents in Cambridge Audio's portfolio, according to the manufacturer. The all-in-one streaming amplifiers offer the functionality of an integrated amplifier with DAC and numerous streaming functions – read the review of the Cambridge Audio Evo 150 here.
