With Technologies from the Michi Series

Rotel Upgrades Amplifiers A14, RA-1572 and RA-1592 to MKII Versions

Rotel recently announced improved MKII versions of the product lines 14 and 15. The upgrades in the new A14MKII, RA-1572MKII and RA-1592MK integrated amplifiers also include key design elements from the renowned Michi series.

All three amplifiers use new DACs from Texas Instruments that support resolutions of up to 32-bit/384-kHz as well as MQA rendering and decoding. All models also feature Bluetooth aptXTM and AAC connectivity, an MM phono input, "Roon Tested" certification, Ethernet and RS232 ports for control system integration, IR remote control, a status display on the front panel, intelligent power-on control, audio direct tone bypass mode, and two pairs of speaker connection options with 5-way screw terminals.

Based on the successful and award-winning A14 – the flagship of the "14" series –, upgrades to the new A14MKII include a full 25 component changes in the output filters of the DAC, in addition to the new digital-to-analog converter. Changes to components of the power supply were implemented using the new design strategies from Rotel's Tribute models. Additional changes in the field of signal processing are intended to provide powerful and musical audio performance with an even more lifelike reproduction of music.

The RA-1572MKII also features critical upgrades to its circuits and components. Over 33 component changes to coupling capacitors, filter capacitors and the power supply are said to provide an even wider, deeper soundstage and improved accuracy and positioning of the stage.

The RA-1592MKII is the flagship amplifier of Rotel's "15" series. It delivers a Class AB output of 200 watts at 8 ohms and is supposed to offer an even better performance than before, thanks to numerous upgrades to key circuitry. The DAC's circuitry features 12 new coupling capacitors with improved frequency response and even lower tolerances, for example. Improved capacitors are also featured in the sensitive signal path with a total of over 28 modified components and additional changes in the power supply.

The new A14MKII, RA-1572MKII and RA-1592MKII are expected to be available in silver or black from authorized Rotel dealers starting in July 2021*. The A14MKII is said to cost around €1400*, the RA-1572MKII around €1900* and the RA-1592MKII around €2700* MSRP.
