The word "Umami" describes a savory, full-bodied taste, by means of which the Japanese manufacturer Hana characterizes its new MC-flagship "Umami Red".
The chief developer personally selected the exquisite ingredients for the Umami Red without significant cost restrictions. The powerful samarium-cobalt magnets generate a respectable 0.4mV output voltage. Details such as square-wound pure copper coils and a PEEK connection field are intended to take the cryogenically finished system into the audiophile top class. He designed the CNC-milled Duralumin housing as an Auricle™ body to create an acoustically effective sandwich construction with ebony framing on the front.
The shape, carved from a block of A7075 aluminum, imitates the physical appearance of the outer human ear. This provides the elaborately converted open-air generator with an acoustically helpful working environment that is intended to significantly reduce any resonance. The red Urushi lacquer, which is applied using a traditional method, has also been chosen by the master craftsman and is intended to contribute to tonal perfection. In the Hana range, the Umami Red is now the undisputed reference.
The Hana Umami Red will be available in Germany from the second half of September at selected hi-fi studios for around 3,700 Euro. Hana grants 2 years warranty on its cartridges.
