The ATC SCM150ASLT are equipped with the newly developed ATC SH25-76S super dome tweeter. Thanks to its stable double suspension, which eliminates the need for the use of inert ferrofluid, the 25mm neodymium soft dome tweeter is supposed to play with unparalleled speed, maximum precision and extremely low distortion. The legendary ATC SM75-150S midrange driver – a 75mm soft dome – couples the important vocal range to the tweeter. The ATC SB75-375SL superlinear driver with a diameter of 375 mm is used for the woofer.
The SCM150ASLT, each weighing a good 116 kilograms, are manufactured in ATC's own carpentry workshops in the Cotswolds, UK. For the Limited Edition, ATC provides each loudspeaker cabinet with a selected European walnut veneer with a crown cut, sealed with high-gloss polyester lacquer and finished with a stainless steel plaque on the front. The SCM150ASLT also comes with a custom limited edition base that is PVD treated to give a nickel-like appearance. The SCM150ASLT's rear-mounted input panel features a 10-pin aerospace grade LEMO connector for connecting the ATC P6 power amplifier.
Each chassis of the ATC SCM150ASLT is directly driven by one of the six channels of the ATC P6 3-way power amplifier. It operates in Class AB mode and has a double mono configuration. Its six channels have a combined output power of 700 watts: The woofers get 200 watts each, the mid-range domes 100 watts each and the tweeters 50 unfiltered and unlimited watts each.
The ATC SCM150ASLT Limited Edition system is said by the manufacturer to achieve a maximum sound pressure level of an almost unbelievable 117 decibels. All components are completely manufactured in England and for the most part by hand.
The SCM150ASLT Limited Edition speaker system is available for immediate order. The recommended retail price is 65,000 Euro. As with all ATC loudspeakers, owners of the ATC SCM150ASLT Limited Edition enjoy a six-year manufacturer's warranty. As each set is built to order, the earliest delivery date is August 5, 2020, and with only 22 pairs available, the rule is: first come, first served!
