The floorstanding speakers from PS Audio are the result of a collaboration between PS Audio and Arnie Nudell, developer at Infinity and founder of Genesis. After Nudell's death, Chris Brunhaver took over the final development and completion of the aspen FR 30. The result is an exclusive loudspeaker that is technically split into two parts, and thus consists of a bass section as well as a separate section above it for highs and mids; all the drivers found in the loudspeakers are designed by PS Audio themselves, according to the manufacturer.
The bass section houses four identical woofers – with a diameter of 8 inch / 20cm each – which are additionally supported by four 10 inch / 25cm passive membranes on the sides. The remaining frequencies are reproduced by ribbons; for the mids and treble, a 10 inch / 25cm planar magnet with Teonex membrane is located in the upper part of the cabinet. Furthermore, a super-tweeter module, which consists of two 2.5 inch / 6.4cm planar magnets with Teonex cone is also located in the upper section. Adjustment options for placement as well as level are additionally found on the back.
In Germany, the aspen FR 30 from PS Audio is available immediately in white or black finish, with the MSRP stated to be about €37,000.
