Monitor Audio launches 7th Generation of Silver Series

The seventh generation of Monitor Audio's "Silver" series, which has been in existence since 1999, features new drivers and crossovers as well as an improved design, among other things.

The new Silver series consists of eight different speakers, including two standmount (Silver 50 7G and Silver 100 7G) and 3 floorstanding speakers (Silver 200 7G, Silver 300 7G and Silver 500 7G). The series is completed by the Silver C250 7G center speaker, the Silver FX 7G bipole/dipole speaker, and the Dolby Atmos-enabled Silver AMS 7G add-on module.

The speakers of the new series feature the newly developed "C-CAM-Gold" tweeter with "Dispersion Waveguide II", which is supposed to promise a lifelike reproduction of the high frequencies. In addition, the new "RST II" (Rigid Surface Technology) midrange and mid-bass drivers with a stiffer profile and various optimizations to the structure of membrane and geometry are also included, which aim to bring a low-distortion sound, as well as high power handling. The drivers are powered by a likewise newly developed crossover.

The design of the new speakers features new driver bezels that hide the driver surround and new magnetic covers. The floorstanding speakers are also equipped with outrigger feet, which are intended to ensure stability on carpeted as well as hard floors.

All speakers in the new series are available in the finishes satin white and high gloss black. Except for the Silver FX 7G and Silver AMS 7G, all models are also available in the real wood veneers ash, natural walnut and black oak. The series is complemented by the Silver W-12 6G subwoofer, which is carried over unchanged from the sixth generation.
